Alison Smith
University of Leeds
Alison is a Lecturer in Health Economics based at the Academic Unit of Health Economics at the University of Leeds. Alison works with the NIHR Leeds Health Technology Research Centre to help facilitate NHS-ready health technologies, and her research focuses on the use of economic decision modelling and simulation to inform health policy decisions. Alison was a founding member of the MEED Research Forum and sits on the MEED Organisation Committee.
Sean Gavan
The University of Manchester
Sean is a Senior Lecturer in Health Economics at the Manchester Centre for Health Economics, The University of Manchester. He is experienced with designing trial-based and model-based economic evaluation of diagnostics and digital health technologies to support decision-making and product development. Sean was a founding member of the MEED Research Forum and sits on the MEED Organisation Committee.
Alex Thompson
The University of Manchester
Alex is a Senior Lecturer in Health Economics. He is deputy Centre lead at the Manchester Centre for Health Economics, The University of Manchester and co-founder of MEED. Alex has worked with many small to medium enterprises developing the evidence-base and value propositions for their technologies. He is a co-theme lead for the Manchester Health Technology Research Centre which focuses on innovations in emergency and acute settings. Alex also provides advice via the Lancaster NIHR Research Support Service.

Ana Duarte
University of York
Ana Duarte is a Senior Research Fellow in Economic Evaluation and Health Technology Assessment at the Centre for Health Economics, University of York. She is a member of the NICE technology appraisal committee A and the NICE Decision Support Unit. Ana serves as a health economics expert for INFARMED IP (Portuguese National Authority of Medicines and Health Products) and is an associate editor for Value in Health Regional Issues.
